Twenty-five years ago, the Ponce Hilton Golf & Casino Resort opened its doors in 1992 as a first-class hospitality resort with 155 rooms, a premier casino, pool and recreational areas, tennis courts and various restaurants. Since its inception, the hotel has been a witness and key player of Puerto Rico’s growth of tourism in the Southern region. Ponce Hilton Golf & Casino Resort’s anniversary has included a revamping of its facilities with an investment of approximately $3,000,000.00, including:
• Lobby renovation with new tropical style furniture, gardens and ambience
• El Bohío Sport and Pool Bar with new bar counter and tropical furniture;
• Fitness Center with new carpeting, painting and premier fitness equipment;
• Rehabilitation of Tennis Court facilities for a total investment
A renovation of its 255 rooms, including an on-going remodeling of 100 Ocean Tower rooms, now in its final phase, should be completed in June 2018. In addition, the newly renovated banquet areas offer a wide array of services and facilities to meet commercial and business needs for special events, conventions and other activities.

The hotel’s gastronomy offering is varied and savory, including La Cava, La Terraza and El Bohío, as well as Sancho’s located at the Costa Caribe Golf Country Club.
Lunch and dining options offer a wide array of savory menus at several locations including La Terraza’s renowned buffet which features breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Poolside El Bohío features light snacks and refreshments. Costa Caribe caters to golf enthusiasts, featuring a 27-hole PGA championship course overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The Costa Caribe Clubhouse is also an ideal dining location for families, and special events.
In the aftermath of Hurricane María, the hotel became headquarters to the Southern region’s first responders focusing on disaster recovery and power restoration to hundreds of communities.
As part of its corporate responsibility programs, the Ponce Hilton engaged in the “Somos Millones de Quijotes” program, which delivered over 76,000 hot meals and bottled water throughout 165 communities in more than 20 municipalities that suffered the devastation of the hurricanes.
In early March, and as part of Hilton’s Travel with Purpose® corporate responsibility platform, Ponce Hilton employees led a voluntary rehabilitation effort to help restore the Second Chance Animal Rescue sanctuary in Villalba, home to more than 150 abandoned pets. The initiative, which also integrated employees from medical deveices company Medtronics and Duke Energy, brought pet supplies, food, a large amount of cleaning and pet hygiene materials as aid. In addition, Duke Energy employees also assisted with donating construction materials for reconstruction of shelter facilities destroyed by the hurricanes.
